Just wait…. It’s going to get worse and here’s why.

I just spoke to a group of long haul truckers from the local UPS teamsters.

Forget about the added fuel costs that are being tacked on to the price of food right now. WAIT until we see the current high fuel prices tacked on to “this years” food cost.

Remember the food prices we are paying right now are based on “last years” cost of fuel and the price increases we are experiencing right now are based on today’s increased transportation costs.

BUT when farmers start planting and harvesting for the end of this planting season the “current” fuel cost will be tacked on to the price.

So not only will the new fuel cost be added to the transportation cost but the new fuel cost will make the farmers cost of goods sky rocket.

It’s one thing to feel the pain at the pump, and watch the prices of fuel and food skyrocket before your very eyes. It’s quite another when it stretches your finances so thin you start to negotiate with yourself every time you think about making a purchase.

Sure you can drive slower, you’ll even be able to choose to drive less but what kind of decisions will you make when it comes time to feed your self and your family?

Especially when it looks like food prices come fall are going to double?

My wife’s Mom (79 years young) on a limited income and spends her time cutting coupons and plans her grocery shopping like a general going to war.

Her next step to reduce her cost is to buy “DAY OLD” food.

Yesterday she stopped in for a visit with an apple pie. The posted price was $2.49. The Shop Rite grocery store had this “old” pie on sale for .25

So what’s her next step once food prices go crazy?

Will it be cat food?

Sick of complainin’ and you want to do something about it? Visit fightoilprices.com

Stay safe, stay warm and save money

John

P.S. So what’s your take?
